As I have now been blessed with the incredible position of co-leading 61 people on the World Race this coming September, I can’t help but let you guys in even more on what God has been pressing on my Spirit for the next season. He has already done so much for J-Squad (yes, J-SQUAD!!) but it is His nature to continue to show us more and more of just how good He truly is. He wants to pour His riches out abundantly and that includes showing us more of who He is in our lives. What a great Father!
Knowing all of these incredible things, it is time to explain a little bit more as to what God wants for my squad and just how He specifically wants to show them His love so they can in turn show it to the world. I get the honor to be able to be directly involved in the life stories of 62 other people (that includes my co-leader, Erin) and we get to mobilize people to make changes all over the world. I ask that you read the next couple of paragraphs carefully in order to really allow God to clarify how you could possibly help make these life-changing journeys that much more powerful.
Throughout the September Route World Race training camp, God gave Erin and me different words and visions for what we wanted for our Squad to triumph through in the coming year, and the most prominent word was clear: Freedom. I know that God already has our freedom covered by the act of grace that Jesus Christ bore on the cross for everyone but it is our job as Daughters of the King and leaders of a 61 person army to show up and grab hold of what He has waiting for us in the Kingdom. He has literally set us up for success, we just have to do our part and hold out our hands in hope and faith that He is going to show up in all of the ways that He promised us in His Word. Essentially, in order for us to be free, we basically just have to accept that all of our burdens that have held us back have already been taken and God wants to show us who He is through the process of acknowledging what Jesus did for us. It’s pretty simple, yet we make it so complicated! Jesus’ act costs us nothing and was given for free, we just have to hand our lives over for abundant life in resurrected Christ. Geez Louise! What took me so long to figure this stuff out?
All of that being said, in my position as a leader, we have the hearts of 61 others (62 when I include my co-leader and she in turn includes me) placed in front of us to serve them with the best of our ability while our Father fills in all of the gaps that we are ill-equipped to take care of. He has the grace to cover everything so that we realize our inefficiencies and we are left with nothing but Him to rely on. He literally made us specifically so He can take care of us and show us how He loves us by doing all good things for a 100% good and loving purpose. It’s completely ridiculous but it is His nature to give us the fullness of everything He has. Knowing that He is doing everything and we are nothing without Him, He has asked us to be willing to FIGHT FOR FREEDOM in the hearts of the people on our squad.
Knowing that freedom is at stake, I need a league of people to fight for what I am doing and even more so for what Jesus wants to do in the hearts of our squad. When we are empowered to fight for our people, they will in turn be equipped with the hearts to fight for the world. This is a global impact we are talking about people! Praying for me to realize just how badly I need Jesus to show up will directly affect a minimum of 62 people. Becoming abandoned to the life we have always known and instead choosing to run into His arms and see Him as our one and only source for ALL we need is what the world needs. People need Jesus! He has everything taken care of!
