Tell me, what’s the word?

Hey everyone! Once again, I’m sorry it has taken me so long to post a new blog. If you don’t know, I’m in Kenya! Our race has routed the next 3 months to eastern Africa and I am pretty excited.

This month we have been blessed to live with a family who started their own ministry, Shekinah Glory International. The incredible couple behind it, Ben and Christine, have a serious heart for people in impoverished areas. They have planted 10 churches since 2005, as well as planting various orphanges. The orphanages are always attached to churches and the churches are always planted to start Jesus-loving fires in the local communities. All in all, these people know what it means to reach out to ‘the least of these’.

The thing that excites me the most about being here is the fact that Christianity is everywhere. You cannot go a block without seeing at least 3 churches and meeting somebody that our contacts evangelize with. The number of openly professing Christians is so much greater than any other religion and I find it to be incredibly reassuring. People are totally nuts for Jesus, regardless of what anyone may think or say to them. Can you ask for anything better than that?

These next 3 months in Africa are looking on the up and up. I can see quite a lot of challenges in our futures but I know Jesus is gonna blow our expectations out of the water. Every Christian soul shakes the ground and rocks the ages to take a deeper look. I am so encouraged just walking around that I can’t help but want to grow in my faith. African life is so welcoming and full of unconditional love… so who wouldn’t want to grow leaps and bounds in an environment like that? I love what He is doing and I want to bring that love to everybody. Kitale, Kenya is the place to be!
