So I am currently at our Squad debrief, wondering exactly what thoughts I could turn into a blog. The thing that keeps popping up in my head is how crazy this race lifestyle can be sometimes. I watch 63 other people running through 63 different plans, learning and growing in our 64 person family. My team and my squad are a combination of challenges and a constant reminder of how God is moving and growing within all of us. Our life is an ever changing and moving cycle with each one of us fulfilling a different purpose.

As I grow to appreciate this family, I can’t help but think of the family I have at home. I will confess that absence has truly made my heart grow fonder for all of you. My race family has truly brought me to a place I could have never gotten on my own but I have to attribute my roots to quite a few of you. Without the support and love you showered on me throughout the different chapters of my life, I know I wouldn’t have made it to be where I am today. Without your comments, emails and encouraging words, I wouldn’t have been so motivated to take the strides that Christ has set before me. Your value is greater than any of you could ever know and I will continue to thank you and pray for all of you.

In this great state of appreciation, I found myself listening to a song called ‘Blue Ridge Mountains’ by the Fleet Foxes. It made me think of all of you, reminding me of unconditional love within families and not being overcome by worry, as well as how beautiful North Carolina truly is.  I hope you enjoy this video and I will write again when we head to Uganda tomorrow!
