Alo there everyone!
This past week has been a challenging one. I was getting very frustrated with my support raising when I heard a clear message:
DO NOT CHECK IT FOR A WEEK. The first 4 days were very difficult for me until I heard another clear message:
FAST FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS. I was recently prescribed 5000 units of vitamin-d and iron supplements that both have to be taken with food, so you can imagine I was a little skeptical. However, I knew I had to stop worrying and rely on my faith in Christ. After an intense battle between my own understanding and that of the Lord, He has shown me what my life needs:
FOCUS and
PURPOSE. I believe these two traits will be my biggest undertaking during my 11 month journey.
For the last 4 days I have been in Boone, NC with my brother, Logan and our 2 dogs. I felt it was time for me to get out of Charlotte and grab some fresh air and fantastic views. I contacted a fellow October 2010 World Racer, Ashley Auman, and we met up on Saturday night. Ironically, Ashley had just completed a 3 day hike with a good friend of mine that she did not know previous to her excursion into the woods. I was really glad to speak with Ashley and hear that someone else was going through the same steps towards preparation for the race. Ashley is a really kind and mellow soul that is easy to be around. Meeting her makes me look forward to training camp more and more each day!
In “Being Fat Stinks” news, yogalates is my new favorite exercise method. I really enjoy turning myself into a human rubber-band with a flatter stomach.
I am happy to report that I have finally found the perfect sale-priced trail running shoes for the race. I was really starting to think I would have to wear my Adidas but God threw me a nice pair of Merrells. I normally can’t stand wearing anything other than sandals but these things are so darn comfortable.
Please continue to pray for my family, my fellow world racers, those still suffering from natural and unnatural disasters and anyone else you feel you should be praying for. My favorite way to pray is to simply wait for God to send you a name. You will be suprised by those who pop up! (also, pray that Brazil stomps Chile today! I would really like to see Brazil vs. Argentina in the FIFA world cup final!)
Finally, I want to thank all of you who have chosen to pray and donate funding towards my journey. I am so grateful that so many of you care about my future in Adventures in Missions. I really appreciate all that you have done for me and I cannot wait to travel the world under God’s thumb.
Muchas Gracias!
