In Matthew 10:8 tells us to lay hands on the sick and heal them. So… that’s what we did. Oasis went into the “bush” with team Pheonix for three days. As soon as we entered the village of Bugobi we all felt the spirit. After talking to our contacts we found out it wasn’t the spirit we were hoping for. This village is hungry for something but looking in the wrong ways. Many witch doctors and confused muslims are in control. There are some great churches trying to get the reigns back, but in need of help. So like I said as soon as we entered this place we hit the ground running. Our days were going to be long and very tiresome but we were ready for the battle. After all, we knew this was not going to be easy.
After the first day of “door to door” or rather “hut to hut” talking we were off to a great start. Somewhere near twenty people accepted the Lord and many eyes were opened to the truth. The next day was more of the same but also we showed “the Jesus film” movie to about fifty locals. Afterward I spoke a brief message and called out an alter call. Eighteen men, women and children accepted that night. Praise God these people were feeling the love of Jesus and responding in the right way. The last days was definately the best. In the morning we broke up into groups of two and went into elementary and high schools to preached the word of God. It was a little frustrating after I gave my testamony to the older kids, who were mostly muslim, and they all laughed at me and didn’t believe me and my story. “Look at you. There is no way that is your background.” I do think I got a few of them thinking when I got a little tough and told them either it is heaven or hell. Your choice. Kinda harsh I know but sometimes that’s just the way you have to be I guess.
After that we went to the younger kids. Easily seventy-five kids in one class! Crazy! We told a few stories, sang a few songs and just praised God. It was much more light hearted and fun. After Erin asked the kids who wanted Jesus in their heart, I think all the kids raised their hands. Now if there were sincere or not that is up to God to figure out. So I guess just add them to the list. After that was lunch. Yeah…more rice and beans!!  At least the fruit here is better than anywhere else! Then more “hut to hut.” This is where it got interesting. When we all came back together we shared stories. First went Ashley and her group. She told us about on house they went to that had a man who could only see out of one eye. After telling him out Jesus and him accepting they layed their hands on him and asked God to touch him. A few minutes later the man was in shock. HE COULD SEE! Not just one eye, both. Perfectly! After that they prayed for a little boy who hasn’t been able to walk since he was born. When they were done he took his first steps ever. HE COULD WALK! C’mon Jesus!!
At night we did a crusade and had yet another alter call. It was going to be the last one we would do before leaving Bugobi. I was leading a man in the prayer when afterwards one of our contacts handed me a hankerchief of a muslim man that had fallen off his roof and could not walk. He told me the man heard we were here praying for people and he wanted to be healed. He couldn’t walk so he sent this piece of clothing hoping it would work. I laughed because how much more of God could you get. So I prayed the best I could and handed the hankerchief back to my contact. Ten minutes later He came to me a told me the man was here! I asked what man? He said the one I just prayed for. “I thought he couldn’t walk?” I said. “So did I” he exclaimed. We ran over to him and he said his legs were feeling much better. HE COULD WALK! We prayed for his hand because he told us it was hurting. Aftrer we watched him get on a mortorcycle and head home. Don’t know if he will ever accept Jesus in his heart but I do know he felt Him that day.
All in all the three day was packed full of “Jesus” stories and many aksed Him to be their savior. God is so great when you just do what He says. All He wants to do is love us. Are you ready?
