Hello from a desktop computer with a really
slow internet connection located in a random internet cafe in Nyagatare, Rwanda!
I’m not even sure most of you knew I was in
Rwanda, unless you read my Facebook status last week, haha.

          Yes,
they changed our African race route around due to elections held in Tanzania
during the time that we were originally supposed to be there due to
safety.  So yeah, my team is spending this
month out in the middle-of-nowhere, Rwanda.
But not quite in the “middle of nowhere” as we were this past
Saturday when we went to a traditional African wedding!  THAT was quite an adventure and I can’t wait
to share that with you sometime soon. :]
Just imagine 6 white girls trudging across the hills of Africa in the
nicest attire we have worn in the past 6 months, all the while a storm brewing
across the distance.  I’ll leave that to
your imagination until next time. :]

          It
is so nice though to be out of the city this month.  I haven’t seen the true beauty of nature
since living in the jungle in the Philippines.
And let me tell you that Rwanda is beautiful!  It is definitely called “the land of a
thousand hills” for a reason.  The
beautiful rolling hills of the African countryside is absolutely breathtaking!  God couldn’t have known His daughters better,
because this place is the absolute perfect place to spend our month 6 on the
race, refueling for the rest of the Race ahead.

          Speaking
of Month 6…I can’t believe it is already my 6th month on the World Race.  Today actually marks the halfway point of my
race (or at least close to it).  That is
insane!  Part of me feels like it has gone
by so fast but then again most of me knows for sure that we should at least be
this far along with everything we have gone through and experienced!  haha!
Life has been rough and challenging, but has been the absolute BEST
learning experience I could have had this year.
Praise the Lord for knowing best! :]

          Besides
the lack of luxurious amenities and having to use the bathroom in a hole in the
ground and bathing with a bucket and eating french fries as the main course
each meal, etc, it has been wonderful seeing the beautiful African faces.  God has especially been teaching me about
LOVE and HOPE.  It’s all about realizing
how a simple smile can bring HOPE that someone really does LOVE them.  It has been about me receiving an incredible
LOVE from the LORD and discovering that even through difficulties, God has
given me an abundant HOPE to keep pushing on and LOVING despite my feelings.

          Hopefully
I will get some new blogs up soon! …. Sorry for the delay, but thank you for your patience!

You all rock for being such amazing
supporters!!! I couldn’t be more thankful and loved on this Valentine’s Day :]
