Hello!
My name is Bre Steele. I am a 24 year old from San Diego, CA. The actual town I’m from I doubt you will have heard of…it’s so small we didn’t even have a grocery store. Yet alas it was here at a young age that God began to write the story of missions on my heart. I grew up in the country and loved to be outside. With two and a half acres, I had the freedom to climb trees, explore, use my imagination to its greatest capacity. One of my favorite games would be playing “survival.” I would gather food (oranges from my neighbor’s trees), build a shelter out of branches, and prepare for the impending storm ready to wreak its havoc and destruction.
Fast forward 15 years from the outdoors to an office…
I graduated from CSU San Marcos and earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Development. I currently am working as an administrative assistant at a family owned bioresearch manufacturing company. It was the type of job I swore I never would have and never wanted, sitting at a desk all day doing office work. I always felt called to something more than a typical 9-5 job. Yet God’s ways are higher than our ways and truly knows what’s best for us. It was here at this job that He spoke for me to go on the world race. Though computer and business training would not be courses I would expect to be in the prerequisites for a mission trip, God knew what He was doing.
I love to play guitar and sing. Worship is my heart. I have a deep passion for worshipping God and seeing others become ignited by the fires of God and/or set free to be able to express their love to Him. I also long to see people set free from oppression and healed, both spiritually and physically. I love nature and feel closest to God in it. I got bit by the travel bug at a young age and never have been able to stop the itch. The more I travel, the more it increases. Again, it was God all along connecting the dotes to the glorious picture of this moment. I also love to paint and do photography. I am a child at heart, yet also thrive off of deep conversation. Puns make my heart smile, as well as dinosaurs, sunflowers, and wolves. I am a foodie and love trying new food. I love to write as well, and am currently working on writing a devotional called “Jesus and Salads.”
I am so excited to be able to share the journey that God has me on with you! Thank you for taking the time to read my story and see what God is doing around the world, as well as in my world.
