1.   Variety: This month we have received variety in ministry and in our food. We have done ministry at a school, a children’s home, a hospital, a prison and several churches. I didn’t realize what a blessing it is to not do the same thing everyday…I did know it was a blessing to not eat the same thing every day but I haven’t experienced that lately! Thank you Elizabeth for the diversity in the meals!

2.  Hot Showers: Enough said! Nice little midway treat 🙂

3.  Dads: I love my dad very much and miss him terribly…Bishop Moses treated us like his own children. He was our contact and host this month. He set us up with many different opportunities to serve, as well as poured into our team daily with wisdom and guidance as a father does with his children. He has invited each of to return and offered to host us. I’m very thankful to have met this wonderful man of God.

4.  Mangos: I’ve never been a big citrus fruit fan…oranges, mangos, nectarines…didn’t care for them. We have eaten lots of mangos this month and they are my new favorite fruit. Too bad they cost $2 in America and less than a nickel here.

5.  Soft serve ice cream: We found a grocery store that serves soft serve ice cream for about $.50…sometimes it’s been vanilla and sometimes it’s been strawberry.  Let’s just say the guys who worked there became our friends!

6.  Direction: One thing I hoped to get out of this trip was to learn what I was going to do with the rest of my life. I know what I want to do…I want to work in or start my own non-profit organization that distributes shoes to those in need around the world! I have no idea what to do next, but I am excited to see what God does with this idea.

7.  God’s creation: Africa is gorgeous! Everything is so green and there are bright, beautiful flowers everywhere. Plus, I got to go on a safari and see all different kinds of animals that God formed in His hands. I can add camel to the list because we saw one in the slums…obviously. I am so thankful to get to experience so much of God’s beautiful creation this month and this year.

8.  Books: Before this month, I had read a total of 4 books on the race. This month, I have read 5 books and am hoping to find some more at a used book store in Nairobi because I have run out of books to read for next month.

9.   Mosquito nets: Though it is annoying to have to get in and out of…I have not gotten malaria while in Africa so I am thankful for the nets that I sleep in.

10.  Windows Movie Maker: It is actually a slightly frustrating program…however it made the movie that I am posting on here and will continue to make them for me at the end of each month!

Update on the fundraiser to raise the roof: We raised a little over $1,100 to give to the church. The good news is that that’s enough to put up as collateral to get all the materials and the roof should be up by April 15! Bishop Moses is going to send us pictures so I will keep you posted. Thank you for donating and for your prayers!
