Ok so I have a story to tell. One night this week, our team was able to camp together! We cooked over the campfire, swam in the lake and slept under the stars! We really, really learned about community! At one point I was away from the group with one of our squad leaders, Di, having a heart to heart and all of a sudden, we heard a huge group of people yelling something. We couldn’t really make out what they were saying, and were honestly a little embarrassed because we were pretty sure it was our group and they sounded a little nuts. We got to the lake and saw a good group of our team in a circle, arm and arm, yelling declarations of truth. This is something we did a lot this week. We would yell at the top of our lungs things like, “I am a child of God,” or “God has a purpose for my life!” How incredible was this sight! Too bad I didn’t take a picture huh? Di and I immediately went to change into our swimsuits to join them!! We got in and they were praying, each person speaking when they felt led. It was full of passion, laughter, joy and heart! It is amazing how deep and close our relationships are already! Imagine how close we will be after 11 months! I can’t wait to see what God does with all of these relationships. What we will learn from each other. How we will challenge each other. How we will encourage each other. How we will grow closer to God together.
