Please keep us in your prayers!  We went into ministry running full force, and right now there is a lot of sickness going around in our squad.  (I have recently contracted the bug….whatever it is) and it seems to be hanging around, because we are so busy doing ministry we don’t have much time to rest.

Which leads me to what we have been learning as of late.  Upon the end of our first week of ministry here in Manila, we all just had this feeling of exaustion.  There just seemed to be a tired presence over all of us.  Lots of people have come down sick in the last couple of weeks, which I know is an attack from the evil one.  We got so busy doing ministry that we weren’t taking care of ourselves.  And so, the Lord laid it on our squad leader, Allison, to talk to us about the importance of taking a sabbath.  See, we all were spending all day everyday jumping head first into ministry that we weren’t taking the necessary quiet time with the Lord to refill us….so we in essence were operating on our own strength.  Allison mentioned that if we want to “be a divine encounter” we have to “have a divine encounter”.  If we want intimacy with the Lord we have to spend time with Him every day….and we haven’t been doing that.  We are all learning that it is vital that we spend at LEAST 2 hours with the Lord everyday…we can’t do ministry effectively if we are not spending time with the Lord.  So…please be in prayer for us.  Pray for physical strength and healing.  Pray for endurance…it’s still only month one and we are tired.  And above all, pray that we would each be spending the quality time at the Lord’s feet each and every day so that when we go out to do ministry we are working in God’s strength and not our own.
