Most of you that have been following my blogs know of my month of intercession.  If you do not, you can go here to read about it.  When I first started interceding, I felt deep down that there was a reason.  That God had a bigger reason for me staying behind than what I knew or understood.  Then, I ended up meeting Steven.  Well, Steven has a brother named Jacob.  Jacob has a son named Brian.  Brian was brought to us yesterday so we could pray for him.  Brian, 15, has a serious medical condition called perimembranous VSD with volume overload.  In lamen terms, Brian has a hole in his heart between his Left and Right Ventricles causing an irregular flow of blood through his heart.
Brian is in desperate need of open heart surgery.  This type of surgery can not be done here in Uganda, as the hospitals here are not equipped for such a serious surgery as this.  The closest place that could do the surgery is India, which still isn’t the best option.
Brian and his family need Jesus to do something miraculous in this situation.  We found out last night that Steven’s mother just passed away, and they are now having to address funeral details in addition to everything else they have going on.  Again, this family needs Jesus to work in a mighty way.  They are all believers, and they have told me several times that they believe 100% that Jesus can and will provide a way for them to get Brian the treatment he needs, however, this family has nothing.  They are poor.  They do not have the means to get Brian the surgery he so desperately needs.  So I am asking you, my blog readers to pray and see how we can help.
I keep thinking in my mind, “what if we can get Brian to the US to get some of the best medical care possible?”  My mind then begins spinning in circles as I think of all the things that would have to work out for this to become a reality, and then every time, I am reminded of the fact that we serve a God of the impossible.  I have witnessed several times in my own family God providing in ways that seemed as if there was no way.  I witnessed my nephew, Lukas, who was born with his liver and small intestines exposed, receive some of the best medical care that can be provided from a surgeon that believes in Jesus.  God paid the bill.  Again, later, I witnessed my niece, Kailynn, who was born with a similar condition as Brian, receive medical care, and is now strong and healthy!  I realize I am powerless in this situation, BUT I also realize that God is the God of the impossible, and with Him as the Head of this situation-it can and will become a reality.
So, I am asking you, how can you help?  Who do you know?  Who can you talk to?  What can YOU do to help get Brian the treatment he needs?  I am asking that you seek the Lord’s guidance and ask Him, what can I do?  Jesus, how can I help?  Pray, bring this before your church, your coworkers, your friends, your family.  What connections do you have?  How can you be a part of God’s big picture in this situation?  If you have any ideas at all as to how you might be able to help, please email me at [email protected].  I eagerly wait in anticipation for God to fully open the door and provide a way to make this possible.  Remember, if it is God’s will, God will pay the bill!
