I'm 29 years old and was born and raised in Houston, TX. I have a twin sister named Abbey. We are as different as night and day but she is my very best friend. I am passionate about travel, education and design. All of these things added up to give me a passion for the nations and a desire to see His kingdom come to all nations! I love to learn and have taught middle school Social Studies in Houston TX the last several years. It is what I've wanted to do since 7th grade, and always thought that it was what God is calling me to. Teaching may again be in my future, but for now He is calling me to missions. He is calling me to leave everything behind, and follow Him. It took me too long to say yes to Him in regard to this calling, but I am so excited and beyond words amazed that this adventurer is getting to live THIS ADVENTURE… it's beyond what I could have ever imagined.
My favorite place in the world is Washington, DC. I was blessed to, in many ways, begin my relationship with Christ in that city when I was in grad school there.
I'm a girlie girl. I love clothes, fashion, art and interior design. I come by it quite naturally as my family is made up of artists, architects and designers. I fell in love with other cultures at a very early age through design– it was at home surrounded by international decor that I became fascinated with people and their cultures. I love travel so much I went to graduate school for international education so that I could encourage other students to fall in love with the cultures of our world too! I have been to (or lived in) 12 countries, and am very excited to return to India on the World Race as well as for the first time head to places like Mongolia, Albania, Turkey and every other nation on this route! (insert giddiness here… ) My heart is in Asia as it is where I first saw God's heart for the nations and felt for the first time a call to missions! Because of this, I am thrilled to be able to return and share the Good News there as well as experience life loving on those in Europe and Africa!
I'm excited and a a wee bit nervous about this Race. I know it is God's plan for me so I'm ecstatic about starting this journey. It definitely wasn't the plan I had for myself, but we serve an Almighty God so my life is going to be so much better than the plan I had for me! How exciting it that?!
