Population: 50.5 Million, Total Area: 471,008 sq. miles, A little bigger than California (107 people per sq. miles)
Languages- English, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Afrikaans, 7 other official languages.
Religions- Christianity 68%,animist and traditional beliefs 29%, Muslim 2%, Hindu 1%.
Weather- Typically a warm, dry 80* F.
FUN FACT- Over the past 100 years South Africa has produced over 1/2 of the worlds gold.
Some of the Top Tourist Attractions are the soccer World Cup Stadium, Surfing, visiting the Penguins in Cape Town, hiking table mountain and (My parents will love this..) Shark Diving where the best of shark week is filmed!
From the World Race- While it’s been several decades since apartheid has formally ended, there’s still more healing and reconciliation to take place in South Africa. One of the wealthiest countries on the continent yet much of the population living outside the cities is poor. Like the rest of sub-Saharan Africa, this country struggles with a high rate of AIDS/HIV. Host to the 2010 World Cup and breathtaking natural attractions, it’s also a place full of kingdom potential, waiting to be released — by you.
Ministry for the month– My fingers are crossed that we’ll be working in Cape Town at a local town school. There, racers lead P.E. classes with grades 4-12, and substitute teach. ( Ironically I’m currently sitting in an 8th grade classroom claiming my role as #1 Substitute as I write this blog lol). Through school, sports and recreation, relationships are built and from that the Gospel has a perfect platform to be shared. Unlike schools here in the states, sharing the Gospel is allowed in school! #PraiseHim
“God’s presence flows through these hallways. I noticed it from the moment we steeped in this place. The Lord is capturing the hearts of the students and the faculty here and I’m just honored to be a part of it. We ask for your prayers as we go hard to make sure these students hear the truth of the Gospel before we leave South Africa.” (Taken from a current racer, Harris Richie who launched this January & spent month 1 in Cape Town! Check out His South Africa Video Below!!!)
Addition 4/23/14 found this South Africa Video and Loved the testimonies of the Men at the end 😉
Peace and Blessings,

Then I heard the voice of The Lord saying,
“whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. SEND ME!”
