77 Times
I had a humbling moment this week with my teammate Callie. We were asked to clean the center’s kitchen. Our team has done this four times already, but we were asked to wash the walls (they are all tile) and then mop the floor.
After scrubbing the walls four times and then mopping the floor 7 times, I needed a “come to Jesus meeting.” I had complained and vented to Callie—thinking this was ridiculous. But Jesus gave me a few moments of conviction.
Our team calls it a pride bomb.
I needed this conviction and attitude adjustment. The Lord quickened to me the scripture from Matthew.
Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
Although I didn’t need to forgive the ministry, I needed to realize that if they asked me to scrub the floors 77 times, I would need to say yes. So as I continued to work, I would say… “77 times, Beth…” Although my flesh rebelled against this perspective, the Lord renewed my heart to have a view of service and love. To give my time and energy as much and as diligently as I could. I have been called to finish the race with perseverance and do the work with excellence.
Fun Craft Classes
This week we were able to work with the ladies in the jewelry and craft co-ops. We had so much fun hanging out with these ladies and watching them work and create different things that they could sell.
