Such an amazing month, but here are 11 of my favorites…

1. Riding in the back of the truck at sunset while singing “How Great is Our God”

2. Watching Lord of the Rings with my squad mates, Stephanie and Joy! We watched all 3 in one week–enjoyed several bowls of popcorn too.

3. Appreciation Day: My team showed love and care for my individual likings. It was such a blessing to be loved on that day, but also seeing the greatness of their hearts!

4. Prison Ministry: Sharing my testimony with the men there–realizing my brokenness is equivalent to theirs. My past isn’t ‘cleaner’ or ‘neater’ than theirs–God showed me that His grace showed abundantly in protecting me from stronger consequences of my own personal rebellion.

5. Women’s Ministry: I loved working with the women of the community. We made potholders out of two pieces of fabric. I also shared my testimony of God transforming my identity–revealing His glory and goodness, and the defeat of the enemy’s schemes.

6. Signing “Jesus Loves Me” with Boikano: As we learned how to sign this song, the three year old was learning how to do it while sitting on my lap. I loved seeing his eagerness to learn how to say “Jesus” “loves” “me” with signs. This moment made me realize how important it is to raise your children in the ways of the Lord, and teach them simple messages like Jesus loves me early on.

7. Makibise, one of the youth girls who attended the women’s fellowship nights. I was able to work with her through an identity activity. I loved seeing her work through all of the promises of the Lord–claiming that victory over Satan’s lies that she had been believing.

8. Visiting Pastor Tsepo’s church in the village: It was amazing to serve this church–They were so welcoming and excited to have us. Pastor Tsepo randomly asked me to share a testimony or word this Sunday–so I shared my testimony from the prison ministry. Thankfully the Lord quickened to me to bring that with me that morning. Then after church, the youth taught us a dance and a song. I loved learning how to praise the Father with dance!

9. Broken night of loneliness: This was a tough night for me, but it was beautiful all the same. God reminded me that I had put “home” (including friendships) on the throne, instead of Him. I also had to ask myself if God was enough for me? Or did I need friendships to satisfy my heart?

10. Hospital food distribution with the youth from the church–I loved serving next to them and standing with them praying for the people there that needed it. Then on the truck drive back to the church, we started singing–they sang so proudly of the Father’s love and truth–letting the city hear of His love! Joy and light were so evident in each of their voices.

11. Working in Shammah–this is the clothing store of Tebo and Oliver, who also was the main cook for us. I loved learning how to make a tie and improving on my ironing skills. They also showed us how such a positive work environment can influence the atmosphere.
