How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

  1. Speaking Spanish with Pastor & Ana
  2. The way Ana takes care of everyone when they’re sick
  3. The church we go to is basically like going to church at home, but it’s in Spanish (which makes the music practically better, but the message more difficult – my brain turns to mush)
  4. The predictability of the rain – la lluvia
  5. Adventures to Esteli & Condega markets with Ana
  6. Family dinner table meals with #teamYebo
  7. Close proximity of other teams for those times when we get tired of our own team
  8. The food – from the gallo pinto to every other thing they’ve fed us
  9. Cool nights & mornings for good sleep
  10. English classes – conjugating verbs and learning new words with Pastor, Ana, & community boys
  11. We started this month with baptisms, baby dedications, and the eucharist. #eucharisteo #givethanks
  12. That big hill / small mountain just behind the house – good for long talks, alone time, and getting a glimpse at God’s day-glory and night-glory. #skiesandclouds
  13. Cheap internet that we really don’t need a lot of, but love dearly.
  14. People like Esperanza who let us bake cakes at their house on the fly.
  15. Hugs and kisses all the time.
  16. Studying John.
  17. The mountains we drive through for ministry.
  18. Meeting Ana’s parents in Condega & Esteli.
  19. That Mexican taco place in Esteli that’s Ana’s favorite (or the buffet – both good).
  20. Our contacts knowing & joking about how much we love ice cream & popcorn.
  21. A tv to watch baseball on.
  22. Teenagers to laugh with and practice Spanish with.
  23. Painting, sweeping, laundry, and other things that fill our days.
  24. Team Labo living up to our “other” name.
  25. The green mixed with the brown and yellow outside.
  26. Learning how to make salsa and guac in one day.
  27. Canyon adventures to be labeled “peligroso” even though we weren’t told that at first – and making it through.
  28. Living the #ChacoNation with half the team. #loveontop
  29. Taking a break from work to milk cows.
  30. Learning to see through fresh smells on the mountain side.
  31. Land wrinkles in the mountains and roads.
  32. No rocks in the dirt.
  33. Saying goodbye still hurts.
  34. A washing machine to wash clothes.
  35. Work days that aren’t full at all and leave room for tons of adventures afterward.

These are a few of my favorite things.
