In less than a week I will celebrate my twenty-third birthday! I’m excited to announce that I won’t be spending it on a train or bus, unless God’s plans change drastically between now and Saturday…which I hope they don’t.

While I’m all excited about my birthday, I’ve already celebrated quite a bit by going shark diving last week. This was without a doubt one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I was less than 6 inches away from a 10 foot Great White. God’s creations are mind-blowing.

BUT

I don’t want any of you great people to feel as if you’ve missed out on the excitement. I’m a fan of being celebrated and I know some of you would really like to celebrate with me so I’ve come up with a pretty good idea about how we can do that even though I’m far away.

So far this Race has been phenomenal. I find that I am learning more from God and those around me than I ever thought possible. I am uncomfortable and out of my element most of the time, but God is proving that things like physical comfort don’t really matter. He is creating in me a new mentality of comfort and demonstrating His love in ways I could never have imagined.

However…

I still need $2,800 to continue on this journey after December 1. I know that’s a lot to get in a month, but I also know how good my God is and how He has provided in various other ways so far on this journey and throughout my entire life. I cannot doubt His provision after all He’s done for me.

SO

If you would like to celebrate my birthday in the best way, please prayerfully consider donating toward my trip. I promise that I will update you on what I’m learning. I can also guarantee you that YOU will learn and be blessed by this journey in huge ways. By giving and praying you will no doubt be stretched in your walk with God and will grow to new depths with Him that you don’t think are possible.

If you’re fearful of giving because you don’t have the money, I understand. Trust me. However, I challenge you to take an irreversible step like the Israelites in Joshua 3. Trust that God will provide and step out in faith.

That’s where I’m at right now – in Africa walking daily in faith that God will provide, protect, and love in extravagant ways.

There are several ways for you to send me a birthday gift.
