There's absolutely no way this month has only been 24 days. it seems like an entire lifetime.
I spent Jan 2-5 with 45,000 young adults in Altant at Passion 2012.
Needless to say, God used so many different people, including my family group (go glitter green!) to speak life and reinforce His call on my life to ask for the nations. He also opened my eyes to the reality of human trafficking and how I can make an impact. More on this soon!!
The very next Saturday, I moved into my new dorm at school and the very next Monday I started my final semester of undergrad.
Talk about SURREAL.
it seems like I started college just yesterday, but in reality I've been here for 3.5 years and we're all trying to have some semblance of 'plans' after May 5. (graduation)
Since then, I've been juggling classes (including a 3 hour film class on Mondays) and attempting to organize fundraisers for this grand trip while also co-chairing the Team Development part of Berry's Relay for Life committee. My co-chair is incredible, by the way. We're a power team.
Things changed last Monday – I somehow came down with a stomach virus food poisoning and spent Tuesday – Thursday at my house. My parents are great – they drove three hours late Monday night to get me and three hours home to take care of me, then made the trip once again to bring me back to school.
I can't leave out the grace my professors have shown me as well. God has seriously done some work here.
As soon as I got back, I packed and left (Friday) on a plane to …
Texas
There's nothing like a visit to the lonestar state to get you back on track with God. I participated in the Siesta Scripture Memory Team via Beth Moore's blog. We memorized two scriptures per month for all of 2011 and then had a CELEBRATION….Siesta style aka #SSMTC (just in case you saw that trending on the twitter last weekend).
It was grand. Beth brought a word from 2 John about walking – moving.
Abiding doesn't mean standing still, it means walking in what you know.
Needless to say, Satan's taken ground from me and I'm taking it back. He's tried to take my courage, my perseverance, my strength, my stamina, and my overall desire…but that's my ground. My worth is rooted, grounded, and immovable in the Holy Spirit and Satan has no hold there.
I am an ekleckte kuria. I am a chosen lady.
(2 John 1)
And I'm going to walk in that because that's what I know.
So here's my game plan for the next few weeks:
1. Finalize my t-shirt design (I know you guys are anxious to know..and to be honest, it's been a little slow in coming, but I've got some amazing help).
2. Finalize & order my stickers (you're going to want one of these..I can guarantee it).
3. Talk with Chickfila about a donation night.
4. Finalize Open Mic night at Pal's Coffee
5. Follow up my support letters with an email or phone call.
6. Send support letters to professors at school.
What I need from you:
1. Well, prayer. I need you to pray that, though Satan wants me to give up at times, I will have strength. More importantly, pray that God moves and interrupts me. Pray that I am able to give in to Him.
2. Support – the link is to the left, but I'll make it easy for you and add it HERE. I need your help. I need your money. One thing that's come to my attention is that the money you donate is not refundable if I don't raise enough to go, so PLEASE help me make this happen. I'm confident that God wants to use me in this place at this time on this journey.
3. If you have any advice – fundraisers, scripture, or something that you think would bring people in or get the word out about my trip, PLEASE let me know! Comment, email, text, Skype, something! Please let me know!
4. Like my Facebook page and suggest it to your friends! This is a HUGE way to get the word out (we all use Facebook, right?!) so please repost this link on your Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bethsworldrace.
You guys rock!
Beth
