God has been blowing my mind with the significance of what He's done…

…this is magnifying to me what He's currently doing…

…and giving me hope and multiplying anticipation for what's to come…

He's beginning something new in my heart-something I've been searching for, for a very long time…I want you to follow through some steps and maybe this will be a beginning for you too…

What I want to share with you in a series of blogs is something that has brought me back to the foundations and breathed new life into my frame…My prayer is that He puts His favor on this so that you can read it and truth will be spoken to your hearts…My hope is that you'll give me grace as I'm scratching through this myself.

In the beginning God created…

The first thing that God decided to share with us is that He's creative…

If you then skip down to verse 27 of the 1st chapter of Genesis you'll see that created both man and woman in His image.

My first thought is that it was both man AND woman who were created in His image…Sometimes we get stuck thinking about how Adam was created by God and then Eve was made through Adam and for some people that is enough to think that Eve's creation in God's image was slightly watered down…it isn't.

My second thought was that He chose to create us in His image…wow! I may write blogs about this someday if I ever start to grasp the significance of what He's saying here. Regardless, let's just start by saying that He's created tons of stuff because it's part of His nature (not just behavior) and yet the only thing that we know of that was created in His image was man and woman.

My third thought is that if we're made in His image then He can reveal things about His image and character to us through us. Think about that…it's crazy 🙂

OK, WHY?

Genesis 2:15-25 is a fantastic piece of the Bible that explains a few things.

For the first time we find something in God's creation that He deems not good!!

Adam is alone.

So what must be done?
A suitable partner must be found for him.

So God sets out to create all sorts of animals and brings them to Adam to name. I used to think that the main purpose of this was because animals needed to be named and God wanted to include Adam in the process. However, at the end of the naming, God remarks that a "suitable partner for man was not found."

Uh-oh. Well, what happens if there's no suitable partner?
It's a good thing that God knows the remedy for that and it involves a deep sleep over Adam as God creates a suitable partner for Adam out of Adam!

Adam wakes up and rejoices that he's got a woman who is bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh…

Then the bible makes a pretty concise statement by saying that Adam and Eve were naked and FELT NO SHAME!

ok…so what does this reveal to us about Him?

Well…He understands what it is to be or feel alone. It wasn't good for man to be alone and man was made in His image. So He sought a suitable partner…a partner who is by nature creative and loving (we'll get there)…I don't know that our current minds could even contain the thoughts to even start to measure how much He's created and yet I think what He was longing for was a suitable partner. Well, the only way He could do that was to make one out of Himself because He's God. Just as Eve needed to be created from Adam to become a suitable partner, we had to be created through Him…

to be continued soon…
