go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”
And He said, “Certainly, I will be with you…”
The final destination doesn’t really matter in this world and really beyond. His company does. Honestly, heaven would not at all fulfill us for eternity unless He was there. Even gold streets and a crystal sea will lose it’s luster if that’s the only reason to go. Likewise, if you’re only excitement in heaven has to do with doing the things you can do for eternity with “no responsibilities” you’re missing the entire point. Furthermore, if you are into heaven as a fire insurance plan (whether you’d say those words or not) you’re missing it. Your relationship with Him in eternity is the only thing that will satisfy you and that relationship starts here. How much He is a priority here is a pretty good indication of where your heart is. OR…let me put it this way. The amount you truly desire your lover to come back to this Earth (don’t be soo quick to want to jet off this planet because He’s coming to spend some considerable time here) might be an indication where your heart is…God has called us to walk with Him and sometimes we want to know all about where we are going but what truly matters is knowing all about the one we’re going with.
On a side note, when I often think of Moses’ staff, I think about the miracles it was used for. However, pretty much the entirety of the use of the staff was used practically. As an 80 year old man (when he came back to lead them out) he probably needed it daily to lean on as we walked through a desert. Even some of the miracles like striking the rock to get water was a miracle to provide a tangible and practical need…just another thought.
I thank you for your prayers and thoughts. God is speaking and I am listening…I’m still up for anything He wants to do and you might be the one who has the encouragement or connection I need so keep it coming 🙂
