I remember the first time I heard about moving sidewalks at an airport and it was hard for this yooper to imagine…I had never been on a plane before and it both intrigued and confounded me. Well, many years and multiple countries later, I have found the joy of traveling on moving sidewalks! Haha, but seriously they are pretty cool aren’t they?
Tomorrow I ought to find myself walking on them once again as our squad heads from South Africa to Romania to start our 9th month of ministry which is ridiculous when you think about it. It feels as though it was years ago and yesterday that we all took off. Regardless, a moving sidewalk is the best way to describe my focus and challenge especially for these next few months.
When you are near a moving sidewalk you really have three options:
1. You can decide not to use at all and walk near it but not on it.
2. You can decide to walk with it, on it and speed past the first option people with little effort.
3. You can decide to walk on it but against it and use all your energy to feel like you are just getting by.
Well, here I find myself once again at a place where all He has asked me to do is to walk with Him and let Him carry me from day to day. I can try to do things on my own strength and work hard to try to keep up to what He is doing but get exhausted by it. I can try to fight what He is trying to do in and through me and feel like I am using all my energy to just get by.
It seems as though one option stands a bit above the rest 🙂
Prayer requests:
That I would be able to lead, serve and love well
Our team lives together well but I would like to see us love each other better
Grace…I want to live with more grace and understand it better…
Safety in travels
We will be working with BLING this next month so pray that we would compliment and mutually encourage each other well
That team luminous would finish the year strong and that we would look at it more as the start of the next seasons and preperation for that than just finishing this year and going back to the way things were.
That God would give me the grace and passion to become a fierce lover of Him first and others second
Thanks once again my friends and I will try to update you a bit more in Romania but it looks like we will be camping so I am not sure what internet access we will have.
