Well, I´m quite thankful that I have the opportunity to get online today and hopefully again sometime tomorrow!!! Unfortunately, after a bunch of crazy dreams last night, I went to type them up for future reference on my computer and my computer just wouldn´t turn on. It looks like what I didn´t have backed up is lost forever which is truly unfortunate on many accounts but I really haven´t had the time to really think about it or let that hit me…Either way, I went to get my nalgene out of the freezer and found that I had found a way to bust my second nalgene in as many weeks…kinda funny actually 🙂
Regardless, let me try to catch you up with a few things from my life here in the DR. I´d prefer to take my time and write more eloquently for you, but that´s not very realistic right now so bear with me.
Before ever stepping foot in Mogollon, I felt very strongly that God was putting it on my heart that we would learn a bit of what it means to reap what you didn´t sow…Well, this has been an interesting month to say the least. Between working at schools or going door to door evangelizing or random prayer meetings or services, God has found ways to spread plenty of seed through our group. I find it interesting that most days we go out there, someone or some group of people decide without convincing that they want to receive Christ as their savior. I am not sure how many people have said the prayer in the past month but it´s been quite a few…
Now there are plenty of reactions to this…part of us wants to rejoice in the number of people who are coming to Him…part of us wants to be cinical and think that they just don´t know what they are accepting fully because it shouldn´t be this easy…a part of us just doesn´t know what to think…
however…this much I do know
God measures productivity in obedience and faithfulness…not in efficiency, effictiveness, or numbers…
We have been given a great opportunity to spread seed in Mogollon…Some of that seed will take root now, some may get scorched or stolen…others might grow in weeds and end up choked out…However, what matters and what our focus is has to remain on being faithful and obedient. We may not see another person come to Christ this year but our measure of productivity can´t and won´t be measured on that… There is nothing extra special that we are doing and it´s not by anything we can come up with…We ask that you pray for those who have confessed with their mouths that they would also believe in their hearts…that God would protect that seed and that His kingdom would reign in Mogollon.
Two portions of scripture keep coming to mind these past days…He who began a good work in us is faithful to complete it and My word does not come back to me void…Regardless of circumstances, it is never by our might, wisdom, power or strength that anything gets done. It is ONLY by His grace and Spirit so I am thankful that He is moving and that He is shedding our need to be ¨productive¨ in this place…
You can be praying for protection over our whole squad. Each day finds another random male trying a different method to case out our house or take advantage of us…A number of people have had dreams and some crazy things happen in their sleep as well so pray for rest as well. We´ve been in a grind here for awhile now and we don´t want to slow down with only a week to go. Ask God to rekindle our fires so that we leave hotter than we got here…it´s time to make some breakthroughs…not merely coast and prepare for Haiti!
For those financially supporting me, I thank you once again!! You are such a blessing to me. Even more so, those who are praying on my behalf…you are much of my strength…thank you. I´m currently around 9500 in my account with almost 1500 in pledges which means I´m a little under 4000 away from having this year paid off which is such a huge blessing!!
OK, maybe I will be able to add some more things in a blog tomorrow…but life here is in constant flux so I don´t garauntee anything 🙂
