Well, well well..I was going to give you an update on where I’m at and how I am doing but after writing “well” three times, I figured I should pause for a quick sidetrack…

Wells…When I think of a well, I think of Jacob’s well in the bible and in particular the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman who had 5 husbands and was now with a new guy. It’s almost comical how those two end up talking to each other back and forth because their comments just don’t seem to match up at all. The closer you look at it, the more you realize that part of the problem, in my opinion, has to do with depth. He would ask a deep question and she would give a shallow answer, then she would reply with a shallow question and he’d give her the deep answer…It’s almost like she wanted small talk and He wanted to tell her what she really needed to hear…

She took one look at the well and wondered how this man would get water from it because it’s too deep to reach…especially without a bucket!! He responds and talks to her heart about having water that overflows…she’ll never be thirsty again! The fact of the matter is that the well was deep. It just so happened that from her perspective, there was a depth of emptiness before she would find what was real…However, if you filled that well with water, it would still be deep…but there would be a fullness to it…not an emptiness.

Anyway, I’ve felt both the fullness and emptiness of depth in my shallow understanding of myself, life around me and God…but I want His depth to fill me until I am overflowing with a love and joy for/with others that can’t help but spill into their lives and refresh them with hope.

That being said, I will give you my update now:
Haha, I am currently sitting in my old house in Marquette-the one I lived in for years when at college. I will be in the UP for the next weekish catching up with people and sharing more of what’s on my heart with the World Race. Currently, I’m about 1/5 of the way towards meeting much of my financial costs to go. Praise God that He is faithful, and will provide in His time!! I’ll need to have about $7,000 more raised by January to enable me to at least start the race. I have personally been doing really well and seeing people from the past has been such a blessing to me! I have been encouraged mightily and look forward to fellowshipping more with them in the future. This Wed, I will be heading back to Houghton to share some more of my heart at Bethany Baptist Church in Dollar Bay and to be a part of their prayer meeting. This upcoming Sunday, I will have a chance to share some of my heart with Water’s Edge (Gospel Tab for us old crew.)  I may also get the opportunity to share some of my Educational experience with some of my old profs in their classes this upcoming week as well. All in all, I am just going with the flow and trying to see as many people as possible within the week. Worshiping is just so good, and my prayer is that He would give me more of a heart to do so and the capability to do so…I love you all and your prayers mean so much to me!!!

God, bless them abundantly!
