So I definitely had no idea as to what our team would be doing here in Romania, but we are working at a Christian camp in the off season. The camp is called, “7th Spring Camp” and its so beautiful! I will get pics up as soon as I can! (that means I still have yet to take any here….)
Basically what we will be doing is some minor repair and maintenance on the campus here in preparation for the summer months. We have, so far, painted gates and rails, burned grass, raked and burned leaves, scraped bubbled paint, moved part of a dirt pile, and split firewood (the furnaces here are all wood burning and they heat our water and radiators to keep us warm!).
Another huge ministry is the camp administrator. His name is Michael (Mihai in Romanian) and he lives year-round at this camp by himself. He has loved spending time with us and everything. He eats most meals with us and also is our boss for the month. We have fun with him and pour into him because there’s no one else here to do that for him. It has been a challenge to have him around all the time because I had gotten used to not having our contacts around 24/7, but he is definitely growing on me. I definitely see a lot of who I used to be in him and desire to show him what more freedom can look like, and even since we’ve been here, I’ve seen more freedom coming, little by little.
So keep us in your prayers because we are out in the middle of nowhere and are all alone, but this is gonna be a crucial month for team growth before we hit Africa, and also a month where a lot of us begin to walk in freedom that we have experienced in the past two weeks (there’s another blog coming on that :)). Something else is that we would continue to be bold and speak whatever it is the Spirit is telling us and to not hesitate about. We have a spirit of boldness and of power, not of fear, so hesitation should not be a part of that. Also, that we would continue to grow and trust our team because we’re still learning what that looks like on this new team.
