This month, we are working with three different ministries all set up through the same contact.
First: We are helping out at a ministry called La Jordan. They get women and whole families off the street and educate them, give them work (handicrafts and stuff like that), clean them, clothe them, etc. We are helping out with child care while the mothers are working. We are also helping them fix up part of the building and get it ready for usage. We are also helping them with a construction project.
Second: We are helping out at a boys’ home. This place is a transitional home that can hold 12 boys. They are between the ages of 18 and 23, for the most part (one is 27). They are boys that were taken off the streets when they were younger and stayed at another home for kids, but now have no where to go and have no motivation to move forward without this home. They stay there, cook there, do fun stuff together, and all go to college. The ministry actually helps pay for their college. The guy that is head over this is our main contact. Basically what we will be doing is just hanging out with them, building relationships, and discipling/helping spur them in the right direction in their relationships with God.
Third: We are helping out YWAM with street ministry. Not really sure what thats gonna look like, but I definitely know its gonna be a new experience.
This month is definitely gonna be a good one! We are doing all of these things throughout the whole month, just different days of the week. Don’t know what that schedule is yet, but will let you know that and how the YWAM thing works out!
