Nijgadh, Nepal is a perfect example of a ‘simple life’. The mode of transportation here consists of a few motorbikes, mainly bicycles, and by foot.
So for entertainment here… We walk.
THIS is what we see…

Women and children walk long distances to fish every day. These are a common type of net.

Goats. And lots of them. There’s more goats than people here… Some are tied to a pole; most are wandering.

Strong/ Hard working Women. My work ethic is put to shame after seeing the loads these women carry and distances they travel.

Markets.

Oxen and waterbuffalo. The ox are used for working, and the buffalo sit in the shade and get fat… So that we can enjoy them for dinner in our momo’s. =)

Children walking to school. They have class Sunday through Friday and depending on the school, there’s a different day and color for dress code. If it looks like rain, the kids wear rubber sandals which are sold by the hundreds at the market every Sunday afternoon

Smiling Faces. Everyone is so friendly. They laugh when we put our hands together and say “Namaste”

Corn and Rice Fields

Welcome to Nijgadh, Nepal. The intense sun and humidity will wear you out in southern Nepal, but the people you meet and things you get to see are worth the sweat.
