Life’s an adventure… I LOVE experiencing new things… Here’s some
things I learned in India…
Back and stomach fat are fine, but make sure your pants go below your knees,
and those shoulders are covered up.
take them often… You can never have enough chai. =)
wild, and not to be trusted.
a no. There’s really no way to tell, so interpret it however you want.
acceptable. I could lie and say that I feel bad throwing my wrappers on the
ground, but I don’t. It goes against everything I was taught, but it’s what
they do here; people throw trash wherever, collect the plastic, and burn the
rest. As for the cattle- they’re just as much a part of the landscape as the
trash is. It’s always funny to see them wander around public places, and no one
even bats an eye…
Always catch a ride with your
friends… Like most of Asia, India is no
exception to the lenient traffic laws. Babies sit on parents laps on mopeds,
it’s crazy…

You can be in a saree fashion
show. Simply walk into a shop and they
will drench you in silk… you can buy them if you want to, otherwise just
capture the moment with pictures…

least one named Afasar. Unless you have a lot of time to spare. =) One afternoon,
we were told that we’d get a discount ride back to our home if we simply
stopped at a few of the driver’s friends stores to ‘make an appearance’. We did
not have to buy anything, and it would only add 20 minutes. Ok, Cool. Well, 2
stops quickly turned into 6, and 20 minutes turned into 2 hours. And the free
ride? Never happened because the rickshaw ‘broke down’ randomly on the way
home. Haha Afasar might have been a compulsive liar, he sure made us laugh…
public bus. It’s a crowded and bumpy ride, even in the ‘women’s only’ section.
There is a fare collector that pushes his way up and down the isle to collect money
from everyone. Sometimes you have to jump off a moving bus because you weren’t
fast enough to push your way to the door while it was stopped. We rode the bus
constantly, and it is a huge highlight of India for me…

India. It’s the most unique place I have ever been.
