Well, our time
in Thailand has come to an end. On our LAST NIGHT out in the bars, I saw some
old friends, made some new, & the time came to go say goodbye to ‘Mok’ (my friend from the previous blog that you should read if you haven’t)

As I walked up to
the bar, I wasn’t exactly sure how to approach this ‘goodbye’… How do you
LEAVE  a friend that you know is lost and
in such deep pain?! How was I going to walk away from her for the last time?!
Well…

I didn’t see
her standing in the front with the other girls like usual, so I asked….

‘Is Mok working
tonight?’

‘No, she in
Bangkok.’

‘Oh, for how
long?’

“I don’t know,
she no work here no more.”

WHAT?! I could barely breath, I was so overwhelmed that THIS actually happened. So exciting! And then I double checked like 5
times to make sure.

In case you missed that, MOK LEFT THE BAR!! The woman that was deeply
broken, lived in a cramped room upstairs the bar, and wouldn’t leave until she “found
a husband” LEFT the bar!
Me and ‘Mok’

As great as
would have been to see her one more time, my deepest Hope and Prayer for Mok
was for her to leave prostitution & be with her children. That’s what
happened!! I don’t know details other than she left on Sunday…  I’ve never been so excited NOT to hug someone
goodbye. MOK LEFT PATONG!

I will most
likely never see or hear from Mok again, but I will forever know that I was a
piece of the puzzle in her life. If she was in your thoughts & prayers
after my last blog, YOU as well helped change the life of a Thai mother. She
had the guts to finally leave Patong after 3 months of being ‘trapped’ . She
made the decision to return to her family, not me. In fact, I wasn’t even
around when she decided to leave.

Thank YOU &
Thank-you ‘Mok’! Let THIS be an example to the world that no one is beyond Hope
and a fresh start.

I encourage
you to speak when you feel compelled to talk, & always listen to other’s
stories, no matter how uncomfortable it might make you at first. You have NO
IDEA how your smile and compassion could alter the course of someone’s life.
Who knows, maybe you could be the friendship that brings a woman out of
Prostitution.

This kind of
stuff really Happens!

(It’d be easy for one
to think ‘what about the other girls?’ The women of Patong are not ‘Projects’.
Many seeds were planted in girl’s hearts this month, & it was not my team’s place to
decipher who will change their lives around or when. I was blessed to see the
outcome of ‘Mok’. Other’s will be blessed to witness those ‘ other’ girls’
outcomes..  God runs on his own timing,
not ours.)

Q: Did Jesus
ever talk to a Prostitute?!

A: No. He only
talked to a beautiful daughter of God.
