community- there’s a lot of ‘job descriptions’ for this month… we really do it
all!
We assist with any & every school chapel, youth program,
& church service we can fit in our schedule. Two of the main contacts we have are ‘Bowen Christian Family Center’ & ‘Whitsunday Christian
College’.
Bowen Christian Family Center has three campus’s spread
throughout the region. We are close with the pastoral staff and an active
part of the many youth programs & weekend church services that go on. ‘Foreigners’ are a big inspiration and encouragement
for the congregations here. We all worship the same God, and now we’re connected with friendship.
grade day school. We run the chapel programs on Thursdays, and it is such a
blessing to lead worship and perform drama skits in front of the students.
There is also a Youth night on Friday that we are a part of. We meet these kids where they are in their faith, then encourage
and challenge them, all while giving the glory to God.

nights, and bbq’s. I will explain this part of our outreach in detail later.
We also spend a lot of
time doing manual labor. Our team of 7 makes a great work force.
If a contact’s church or home needs cleaned top to bottom, we get the
chemicals. If a yard is in need of maintenance, we bring the tools &
gloves. If a community center needs painted, we wear our least favorite clothes.
If one of the pastor’s cars is dirty, we wash and vacuum it. If a dinner needs
prepared, we are chefs.
up bigger things for the full time staff, but is a great way to re-energize moral
& form relationships. Lit2Blaze cannot see a major project all the way
through in the short month that we are here, but we can bring excitement,
energy, and encouragement to the wonderful people behind the ministries already
established in the Whitsunday area. Weather we are weeding a flowerbed or
scrubbing a deck, we are sweating to honor & bless those around us.
