When I began to fill out my paperwork for my India Visa I had this aching feeling in my stomach. I knew that there were going to be some hurdles I would have to jump. As I opened the first page of the document and began to fill it out I realized that my hopes and dreams of spending July 2012 in India might not come true…
My parents were Medical Missionaries in Qalabdarabd, Pakistan. They worked in a small Christian hospital nestled in the foothills of K2. They happened to get pregnant with me and had me during their time there.
India and Pakistan have been in four declared wars since the 1950s and at least one undeclared one. They have been in constant conflict mostly over the dispute for the Kashmir Territory. Needless to say, they do not have an amiable relationship.
Until this point in my life, that piece of information had only been a fun trivia fact but know it was becoming real. I called the visa company and explained my situation, they were very discouraging. They proceeded to tell me that there was no way that I would be getting my visa in time to launch on July 3, 2012 and little chance that I would receive it at all. At that moment, I decided to trust God, send in all my info, plus some extra to insure that I had no ill intentions toward India.
Later that evening, I went to the Fedex office frazzled and frustrated and sent off all of my visa paperwork. As I walked out of the office, I was flooded with and instant wave of peace, the kind that surpasses all understanding. I have no way of knowing whether I will be joining my team in India but either way I know that God has brought me this far and he has a perfect plan for every part of my life. He will never leave me or forsake and I trust in his sovereignty…
God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When don't see his plan
When you can't trace his hand
Trust His Heart
