The plan of ministry for the day had fallen through, so a group of four of us had decided that we wanted to go and travel to one of Bishop’s other churches in a neighboring town called Motosiet! We had previously done some ministry there the week before which consisted of the girls playing and ministering to the young children, while Sam and I helped concrete the mud walls of the small church! This day in Motosiet was no different than the last time we were there, just a smaller number of us that went for the day! The day was a blast, full of hard work and hard laughs with all the locals of the church who showed up to help finish concreting the rest of the walls! At about 4:30 we left and were expecting to be taken home until Pastor Martin pulled up at his house to feed us, as tired as we were and ready to go home, we gratefully accepted the invitation and had a great meal prepared by his wife! Now with a full belly we were more than ready to return home to Bishop’s house……that was until Pastor Martin informed us of his radio show that started at six and that we were going to be attending the show with him………..in awe we thought, “this should be interesting” as we came to the realization that this would be a once in a lifetime chance and should really get excited for it! Pastor informed us that it was an hour of prayer for the nation of Kenya! Excited we pumped each other up telling one another….. “We can do this!!” It is currently now 5:30 we are on our way to the radio show and pastor turns to us in the car and says, “Who’s going to give a message?” Stunned we all thought, “A message?” We asked, “This was just going to be an hour of prayer!” He replied, “No someone needs to give a short 5-7 minute message.” All the eyes turn to me as they say, “Austin can do it!” They all thought it was funny……… me, not so much!! Pastor said in a funny sarcastic voice, “Don’t worry, just sit back there and meditate on your message, after all you’re fixing to minister to 7.2 million people!” We arrive with only fifteen minutes till go time! As I pace outside the building talking with the Lord about this message…….its officially Six o’clock I sit down in front of a big microphone and it was time!
