So we were asked to write a blog about  how we were called to the mission field……………

Well if you have read the about me section of my blog you already kind of know a little bit about how I’ve arrived at this point in my life! So I was 24 and now knew that the Lord had called me to preach the gospel, but at that point I didn’t feel the need to get out of teaching and coaching because I was already preaching the gospel every week at F.C.A. to over 100 plus kids with the Spirit of the Lord moving in miraculous ways!
Over this last summer the Lord moved me to a different school.   While at this school the Lord placed no desire inside me to start up a ministry here, however he did begin to stir up a  fear inside me that began to consume me every single day.   This fear was that if I don’t take action and begin to seek what God’s Will was for my life then I will wake up one day and be 55 years old still teaching and coaching never having stepped into what God had called me to do when I was 24!  So I decided to take action and seek out what it is that the Lord would want me to do. During this last November I did two things I went and looked at a college and got an application in order to pursue a degree in ministry and then I also began to fill out the application for this mission trip! With these two options now on the table I began to seek the Lord for what he wanted me to do because I was not going to finish any of these applications until I heard from the Lord! It was about a week after I got the applications together when I was reading the Word and was in 2nd Corinthians Chapter 13 where Paul talks about how we are to AIM for perfection!  The name of the organization in which the World Race is under is called Adventures in Missions, in short AIM. So that was the first sign that the Lord gave me.   Several weeks later I was reading in the NASB translation of the Bible, a version different from the usual NIV or KJV that I always read from, when I came across  1st Corinthians 9 where Paul talks about running in such a way, as not without AIM. At that point I got on biblegateway.com and looked up how many times AIM was in the NASB version of the Bible, to find out that it was in there only three times. I found that not to be a coincidence. With the Lord revealing this through his word twice, I wanted the Lord to show me one more time so that I know that I know that I know that this is what he wanted me to do. I believe it was about a month that had passed and I hadn’t heard anything new from the Lord, when one night I began to spend time in prayer. A lot of times when I spend time with the Lord I will turn off all the lights in the house and light a candle. Sometimes I lay on my face, others times I will fall on my knees, and sometimes I began to just pace back and forth! This night I was pacing back and forth and I had my candle lit, however the candle had a very small wick and was about burnt out so the flame of the candle was very small! As I was pacing I would pass the candle every time when all of the sudden the flame of the candle began to flare up with a huge flame (as an old candle has a tendency to do). I stopped where I was and starred at the flame as it flared up so brightly, and I began to speak in a small voice…….. arise in me…… arise in me(as I was praying that the spirit of the Lord to flare up in me bright like the candle) until I began to scream it ……ARISE IN ME….ARISE IN ME…….ARISE IN ME! When I heard the Lord speak to my spirit as he said …….Stop! Listen to what you are saying!   So I stopped and began to think……..arise in me? ? arise in me?? Then I got I it! Arise In Me……AIM!  At that point fell on my face and began to cry out to the Lord!

I finished filling out the application that week!
