Today was our first
day of ministry. We made our way to our village in west Adnreah Pradesh on the
9th at 9p.m. The pastor we’re working with this month, Raja, came to get us. We
rode another bus for 6 hours. It wasn’t a bad ride at all, I slept most of the
way thanks to Dramamine.

We finally made it
to another town that is nicer than where we were previously. We are staying
down a long valley road in between two business buildings, then take two
turns, and go up some stairs.

It’s right above
Raja and his wife’s, Meena, room. Their house is two stories. All six of us are
in a small room with a little kitchen area, filled with their pots and pans.
There is also a sink with a little porch area outside the door. We have our own
bathroom too. Meaning squatty potty with lots of water and soap. I am still not
using toilet paper.

Raja and Meena have
really blessed us. This morning, they invited us into their room with air
conditioning and a running fan. They wanted us to see pictures of family,
ministry, and their wedding. We also watched their wedding video.

Meena cooked lunch
for all of us. They are nothing but hospitable here and there is nothing we can
do to help, they won’t let us.

Meena served the
food she made, watched us all eat the food, then gave us seconds and thirds,
before she started eating. Then she took our plates and had us go back
downstairs to her room to sit in the air conditioning so she could eat and
clean.

She made a mean
dish, but it took a lot for me to get through it. I do not like spicy food.
That’s definitely a struggle for me here because all of their food is spicy.
So, before she served it, I was praying hard core that I could eat it.

God
helped me through, but for some reason in the middle of eating I was crying. I
don’t know if it was because I was having trouble eating it, because it was
just so hot that’s what happened, or if it was because I was so full of joy.

They eat with their
right hand here. There is no silverware, so we have to watch them to master how
to shove food in your mouth without looking upward and dropping in the food.
You don’t eat with your left hand since you wipe with it.
