We had our day off
today. Boy, was it crazy. The girls and I wanted to get clothes that Indian
women wear, Saree’s and Dresses. The dresses are a long shirt with big baggie
pants.
So, we went shopping
for these items. Then we had to take them to the tailors to get them sewn.
Meena’s family
invited us into their home. It’s on the same street as the house we’re staying
in. Immediately, they brought us chai tea and took my braids out to redo my
hair. They did everyones hair, dressed us in their clothes, put flowers in our
hair, and put bangle bracelets on us.
It was so
overwhelming and it all happened so fast. They just love serving us and
dressing up the American. Sometimes we just have to humble ourselves. Most the
time, we don’t like the hairstyle they do or don’t understand why they wear the
clothes they wear.
We are so honored
God has chosen us to be here. We are honored God has chosen us to serve him, to
share his gospel here and now.
One thing that is
hard for us is we aren’t seeing the miracles we know God is capable of. For
some of the team, it’s hard not to doubt.
But we keep praying.
We keep believing. We continue to obey what God asks us to do. We continue to
speak life, healing, power, and authority into the people we pray for.
We don’t know why
God isn’t showing up in a miracle sense, but it’s a good thing his presence is.
The Holy Spirit is among us and moving through us. Even though we cannot see
what happens the next day, week, or month, we won’t stop.
We are planting
seeds. We are sewing life into these people.
Whether God gives
healing to someone that second or the next week, we will still bring him glory
for the unknown.
Galatians 5:6
continues to ring in my mind,
Do not grow wearing
in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest if you do not
give up.
That’s a promise
from the Lord. Our expectations don’t matter. Our embarrassment doesn’t matter.
Our doubts don’t matter.
Only God does. Only
what brings Him glory is what’s essential.
