There was a guy at camp on another squad who had been deaf
since he was in the first grade. He had hearing aids so that he could hear. One
night a guy on his squad stood up and said that everyone needed to pray for him
to gain his hearing back. And we did. But nothing happened.
Adventures is an organization that believes in miracles, in
healing. We believe in the blind seeing, the mute speaking, and the deaf
hearing. The next night, he was asked to go to the front again for people to
pray for him. There were people with tingling in their hands and they knew they
had to lay their hands on his ears.
I think we worshiped and surrounded him for about an hour. Nothing
was happening. He was still receiving prayers, we were still believing.
I wasn’t
laying hands on him, I was standing in a chair looking over everything
happening. I wanted to see this happen. I wanted to see his reaction. I wanted
to hear him say the words, “I can hear!!”
It took a long time, but let me tell
you God healed him. He had his ear plugs out the whole time people were praying for him, so when someone
whispered in his ear he finally exclaimed, “JT I can hear you, I can hear you!”
We cheered, we danced, we cried.
All I could think about was his mom and dad
back home. They had known their son for the longest, been with him through his
struggle. What were they going to say when they saw him without ear plugs in
talking to him. God is going to do a might act in his family.
Others had food allergies and were healed of them. For those
of you who know me, I have food allergies to. I have been praying about them
for a while and giving them to the Lord. Especially since I am leaving on the
Race and can’t always be picky about what I eat.
One night I prayed over me and
another girl. The next morning we had milk, no stomach pains! I can eat pizza
and have no stomach pains. I’ll be honest and say that I do choose not to eat
dairy that much and I don’t drink regular milk. I do have still have stomach
issues sometimes, but I do believe in God as a healer.
He will heal you too, we just have to hand over our life to him.
