Even during my preparation of leaving, God is teaching me things. I am experiencing the Holy Spirit. I have been ever since I started at Adventures.
Although it seems like it’s going to be impossible to forget about what I’ll be missing out on while I am gone, God has promised me something better than if I were to stay.
My good friend Dictionary.com says to discern "is to perceive by the sight or some other sense or by the intellect; see, recognize, or apprehend." God is teaching me his insight. He is teaching me how to recognize when He gives me his peace to move forward or his peace to stay back. Along with that, he is giving me courage to follow him.
Whether you turn to your right or your left, you will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21
I am understanding this verse in a completely different way than before.
A friend pointed out to me that God is teaching me something through this. There is going to be an instance on the Race God will use his peace and truth to guide me. He is teaching me how to discern his peace and truth now while I am home.
I know that the Holy Spirit is living and active inside of each Christ Follower. Some of us choose to ignore the Holy Spirit, some of us choose only believe some of what the Holy Spirit is capable of.
At Adventures, we believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit which include (but are not limited too) speaking in tongues, prophecy, intersession, healing, etc. I have been praying for my spiritual gift, I want to be activated by the Holy Spirit. Right now, I can see that God is using me as a prayer warrior. He is showing me that when I pray, he speaks through me. He is asks me to speak truth into people’s lives and I am learning to obey him. He will continue to do that on the Race.
Each Monday I stand in the presence of the Holy Spirit during worship in the Adventures training center.
Working at Camp Glisson for two summers, Friday night staff worship was something I always looked forward too. I think most of the counselors did. The quaint chapel in the unknown valley of Dahlonega, GA was filled with echos of loud songs and cheers. Outside you can hear the crickets chirping along with us making our songs even louder. Worship was amazing, God was present.
Worship at Adventures is completely different. It feels different. It looks different. This is different in a good way. The Holy Spirit is present. Not that I don’t think he was at camp, but he is evident here and now. Love languages spoken in tongues are around me, prophecy and intercession is loud and clear. The Spirit leads us in our dance, song, movement, and words.
It’s completely different, but it’s completely okay.
I love that this is happening. I am open to what God is showing me, how the Holy Spirit is using me. I look forward to sharing stories from the field of what the Holy Spirit does through me and my team.
Please pray along with me as I continue to seek the Spirit. I am praying the same for you.
