It's Hot.
It's Dusty.
It's Beautiful!!!
But don't take my word for it; check it out!!!
Monica and I go COOCOO for Coconuts!

This lady was a hoot! She would yell, "Jesus!" or "Amen!" and expect us to repeat with enthusiasm, multiple times! She is showing off the empandas she cooks and sells on the street to make a living. 🙂

When it's just too far to go "on foot" and a Tap-Tap isn't an option, try boarding The Donkey Express…

Liz is just so easy to love! We were walking down the street when she was nearly toppled by this mass of little boys who couldn't wait to hug her! We are pretty sure she's played soccer with them at some point and they remembered and loved her for it!

We had stopped to pray in a house, and in the meantime we gathered quite the crowd of onlookers. What else was there to do except teach them "O Lay Lay!" The kids loved it, and THE ADULTS were just as enthusiastic about participating!

That same house, a few moments before, while praying for two sisters, one of whom was paralyzed. After we finished praying (and hugging for SEVERAL minutes after that) she WALKED back to her chair with me and we chatted. I don't know what she told me, and all I could say back was, "Qui," but I'll never forget the conversation!

A TapTap (a Haitain public transport bus) typically holds about 14 people "comfortably." At highest count, we piled 23 people in ours, and we ROCKED OUT to classics like "Wagon Wheel," "Don't Stop Beleiving," and "Hit Me Baby One More Time!"

After 96+ hours of no opporunity (or ability) to shower in our house, Becky demonstrates that as missionaries, you just do what you can! (She would go on to wash her hair in this…)

One of my favorite moments thus far…

Family Dinner! I'm crazy about these women (and this meal: avocado/egg salad, grape fruit, rolls and fruit juice!) Can't imagine life without any of them!!!

Be Blessed,
Ashlee
