I've fallen a bit behind the past couple of days, but after crashing HARD last night once back in New York, I'm rested, refreshed and "rarrrrrrring" to go! (Hopefully some of you will have seen Father of the Bride II and will appreciated that bit of Franc terminology…) Alas, I digress. I have much to show you from the weekend!

On Saturday, one of our hosts, Adam, had an all-day bachelor party to attend, so that left Charlee, Lisa and I with an awesome girls' day opportunity. Well, make that, girls and Rocky! Rocky is Adam and Lisa's german shepherd/retriever mix rescue dog. He's the coolest pup, and as long as he's with his people, he's happy. So he tagged along for the day. Kudos to Rhode Island for being incredibly dog friendly – they're literally welcome almost anywhere! Check it out:

Rocky is a road-ready pup! He loads up and goes everywhere! He's definitely a big boy, so when you ride with him, get ready to get cozy! Good thing he's an awesome snuggler (and he doesn't drool too much!) He and I chilled in the backseat on the way to breakfast/lunch in Newport.

By the time we all got up, got ready, got bikes RE-loaded on the bike rack and then deliverd to their overnight stay, found the restaurant, begged them to serve us even though it was almost closing time, succeeded in the begging, got seated and got served, we were starved! Critics (Charlee and I) agree, this smoked salmon platter was WELL worth the wait!

Everyone who passed by our outdoor table wanted to pet Rocky! He's so chill and fun-loving that he's all for the attention. Even the owner of the restaurant noticed him and brought out a big bown of water and an even bigger hunk of sausage. Add that the pieces of salmon Charlee and I couldn't finish and he was one happy pup! We could all take a lesson from this; if we were as kind hearted toward one another as we often are to animals, think how awesome the world would ALWAYS be!

Polo Match! This was a first for all of us, and the atmosphere is one that will keep me going back (barring I make it back to Rhode Island, which is definitely in my plans!) Dogs are welcome, of course, so Rocky made tons of furry friends (and plenty more human pals as well!) Weather was beautiful, attitude was perfect! And kudos to Charlee, who could name well over 2/3 of the national flags you see in the background!!! Travel much? (I knew Jamaica, thanks to about 100+ viewings of Cool Runnings!)

Awesome girls day! Thanks to Lisa for chauffeuring us around all day! (Disclaimer: Charlee and Lisa met when they traveled together to Africa – and specifically Tanzania a few years ago for a semester of research. Networking at its best: they have been full of tips and info for my upcoming journey there!)

Tall ship in harbor at Bristol, RI. No better way to end a day than sitting on a pier listening to the water! (Hence the photo below the ship! What a view!!!)

Ach, realizing I am due for a train that leaves in 10 minutes, and I need to get to the station quickly! I promise, I'll catch you up on Sunday's adventures ASAP!!! (And of course, I'm documenting Monday's all ready!)

Be Blessed,
Ashlee
