It seems like a pattern is occurring on The World Race. We are given a contact in each country that is responsible for setting up the logistics of our lodging and ministry. If we are lucky that contact speaks English, but often they do not. The contacts we have had were all connected with the church. Because of their large role in the church, the contacts often want us to sing, preach, and visit. These are great things, but I am looking forward to seeing what missionaries are doing around the world outside of the church. On a few occasisons our contacts have fallen through, but we usually find another ministry to work with. Here in Mozambique the man who we thought was our contact did not know he was to be our contact. We helped with the church service on Sunday, but for the past few days we have not had a specific ministry. I know that a lot of people have contributed a lot of money so that I could participate in this program. I feel like I should be giving them their money’s worth through my work this year, so it is hard for me to see the down time in a positive way.

One huge positive result of the past couple days is the continued interaction with the orphans. They continue to gather around our fire belting out songs at the top of their lungs every night.
