My first two day in Buenos Aires (Good Air) was rather rough.  We arrived at our hostel at about 3:00 in the morning to find it was not in such a good section of the neighborhood.  We crashed anyway and I slept through the night and much of our first day here.  My throat and fever did not get any better especially in the hostel where the smoke was so strong (Bad Air).  The party in the hostel started at 2:00 am and involved drug and alcohol use.  The second day we moved to a hostel that Brienna pre-arranged for us; which turned out to be amazing.  Each of us kicked in $10 a piece so we could afford the safe, clean, place with hot water and free breakfasts.
Our new living condiditons alone made me feel better, but my throat was getting worse and my temperature was not back to normal so I rode the Subway with Ryan to visit the German Hospital.  That’s right I went to the German Hospital in Argentina.    An hour after we arrived I walked out with three prescriptions and a diagnosis, strep throat.  So I began taking antibiotics and have been feeling better and better ever day.
Each of the World Race teams were given the liberty to pray about the time in Buenos Aires then see where the Lord was leading them.  Our team prayed about it and we agreed to take this time to try to grow closer together as a team.  It is hard to believe that we have come through 4 months yet we have not spent much time as a whole team, don’t know each other very well, and we haven’t had many fun times together.  We also have a new team member to work into the mix.  The second objective to our time in B. A. was to relax, recooperate, and refocus for Africa.
We have explored Buenos Aires and all that it entails; the zoo, the parks, fairs, tango in the streets, the Eva Peron museum, Recoletta Cemetery, the Cultural Center, La Boca where all of the buildings where brightly painted.  I am a big fan of the Subway system which will take me just about anywhere for about 15 cents.  My favorite meal was at the restaurant, “Siga La Vaca” (Follow the Cow).  It was an all you can eat salad bar and grill with any kind of meat you could think of including the famous Argentinean steaks.  It was good, but I think Outback may have better flavor.   I am posting a lot of pictures on this blog, because the Internet is really fast, so enjoy.
