This morning a group of 12 of us practiced for a drama
presentation we are going to do on Easter Sunday. I am not a drama person, so this was a
stretch for me; it’s amazing what The World Race will bring a person to
do. For lunch we split up into teams and
were led to the houses of several cell groups.
The house was very simple and typical; the walls were painted and had
few decorations while the floors were cement.
There was very little furniture, but everything was spick and span. We were served yet another meal of chicken
and rice with huge portions. I ended up
eating a lot more than I usually would because I did not want to offend the
host. Usually we sit and eat while the
host serves then eats in the kitchen or at a separate table. When we had completed our meal the host
prayed for us and gave each of us a bracelet so we would remember her.
This evening we had a youth church service in a nearby park
where I met a little girl that captured my heart within 5 minutes. Grace is 8 years old and comes up to my
waist, but has the maturity of a 12 year old.
Her big brown eyes give off her excitement and joy towards life. Grace does not hide when she is happy rather
she jumps up and down and gets a huge smile on her face. We played on a slide together then her
grandmother asked her to hand out information about the church. She took the job very seriously and scolded
me when I passed up any opportunity to share the information. I cannot wait to spend more time with Grace.
