Hi everyone,
First of all, I am very new at this blogging stuff so please be patient with me if I am a little slow… Most importantly, I can’t wait to meet all of ya’ll. I am so excited I just can’t wait! I got my first round of shots yesterday-7 in all plus malaria pills and I was actually excited to get them because it meant I was getting prepared for the trip.
A little bit about me; I am from Marietta Georgia, it is just North of Atlanta. Growing up, I moved around a lot as a kid and I do think that affected the person I am today. I think it made me more independent and made it easier for me to handle the tough parts of growing up (though I didn’t realize it at the time) We finally settled in Marietta for my high school years and I became very involved in Young Life and had the best times of my life going to camp and being a volunteer.
I currently live and (was) working in Birmingham Alabama. I went to Auburn University and had an amazing experience. I was working in the fashion industry for Saks Fifth Avenue and I just loved it! But I knew I needed something more fufilling in my life and this oportunity became available to me so I trusted the Lord, resigned from my job and have left it in Christ’s hands. I don’t know about ya’ll but getting phisyically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionaly ready for this trip has almost become a full time job in itself!
I am praying for each and everyone of you and I pray that God will bless our AIM team who will be picking our teams. I can’t wait to meet everyone and it is truly amazing that we all have been hand picked by the Lord to go on this adventure at the same time.
