For those of you who remember our “Laura” lady, I wanted to give an update before I leave Malaysia this week. Our team has been pursuing her nearly every night loving on her, buying her food and praying for the release of addictions and pain in her life. Visits with her vary greatly. They can be pleasant and distracted or on the opposite spectrum aggressive and lustful. She has no shame at flashing us, grabbing our backsides and making sexual jokes…and 5 minutes later telling all about her 3 sons and family and breaking out in a song and dance. We were told not to give her clothes because she will just throw them away and that ‘she is a lost cause’ because she has been pursued for a while now and has never come to the Kawan drop in center…well she actually went this past Wednesday to Night Church, and before that shared a meal with us on the Wednesday before on the Kawan porch. All progress. It is evident that God has an anointing over her, and really, I knew this from the beginning when God spoke to my heart telling me her name was already written in The Book.
Tonight was the sweetest goodbye though. Rachel purchased a purple dress and purple shawl (she is ROYALTY and the daughter of The King, so we thought she should know this) and even as we handed it to her, men on the street were saying, “Don’t give her clothes! She just throws them away!” Well, she put them on. And was very clear-headed and very grateful. She remembered we were going to India and seemed to be excited for us. We told her we’d get her one last meal and visit for a little longer. By the time we got back, she was still in her dress, but passed out from huffing glue and had turned into the spaced out Laura that is removed from every good and bad reality in her life. We prayed, and she semi-snapped out of her fog and visited with us. I prayed FREEDOM FROM ADDICTIONS and RESTORATION OF HER BRAIN FROM THE DAMAGE OF DRUGS AND GLUE and HEAVENLY LOVE TO FALL UPON HER and AN ANGEL ARMY SURROUNDING HER SO NO MAN CAN EVER TOUCH HER WRONGLY AGAIN. I massaged her hands and arms so she could remember healthy, healing touch. Rachel let her play with her hair and put in braids. Laura ate til she was full and with a huge, happy smile – wished us “Goodbye!!! I love you!! I miss you!!! So beautiful!!!!” She was sitting straight up, in her purple garb…looking like a completely different person. And what luck – 18 more World Racers from P Squad arrived today to pick up exactly where we left off. This woman will be pursued and is claimed for Christ. My prayer is for a desperately new life for her.
(thank you or ‘I receive your love’ in Malay)
P.S. I leave for India Tuesday night and am not sure of the internet situation. I’ll post blogs asap though 🙂 I am SO excited for India. We will be living in Chennai and working in a healing house. We’re just not sure how soon we’ll be able to communicate because we have a several day long train trip to look forward to after our plane ride in 🙂
