Last week we said goodbye to the kids and the staff at Door of Hope. These were probably the hardest goodbyes as we left the toddler home with most of the kids crying in their cribs. One of the girls was shrieking “No, No, No” as we held her and she didn’t want to be put down. Needless to say, it was hard.

Less than 6 hours later, we were being sung to by a group of kids welcoming us to Cape Town at Jeremiah Project. As they sang, all I could do was smile. There is such a joy and peace here. The moment we walked in, all sadness was set aside and it feels like we are HOME.

We are partnering with Jeremiah Project this month in Cape Town. It is run out of Mr. and Mrs. Haynes home. They live at the end of a block with a playground right next door. We are staying with the family for the month and we have become part of the family. We call Mr. and Mrs. Haynes – Pa and Ma. We will be having VBS, helping with English, and playing sports with at-risk youth. We will be able to interact with anyone that comes around. On certain days, Pa and Ma have feedings for the kids, as well as, fun activities like movie nights.
