Hola
Friends!

I have wanted to share with you about my new
friend Karen for some time now. She is a 6 year old beauty who has stolen my
heart. We met one week ago now and she has already changed my life.

Karen and I don’t speak the same language
although most of the time we understand each other. The first day I picked her
up her embrace was tighter than I expect… I was a stranger … wasn’t I? I held
her and began to sing

There’s no place I rather be, there’s no place I rather be, there’s no place I
rather be than here in Your Love.”

How
could I have not seen it before? This little girl has become a human reflection
of God’s love for me.

When
I come back to the church in the mornings after working construction I am dirty,
smelly, and just overall gross. Yet, this little girl will run into my arms
with her eyes shut tight. She will hold on to me, back up her head to look at
me with her eyes saying, “I adore you, I missed you, I love you,” and then
continue to embrace me with love.

God
is always hugging me when I feel so dirty. He loves me even knowing my past and
it doesn’t matter to Him. He has already forgiven me because of Jesus dying on
the cross. His embrace is beautiful and makes me feel loved and safe.

I
feel so blessed to be loved by my God and Karen…

God
is love. Those who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. This is how
love is made perfect in us: that we can be without fear on the day God judges
us, because in this world we are like him.
