Month 8 was the month of PVT (Parent Vision Trip)! After the whole squad served along side Hope Church in Romania for the first 3 weeks of February, we had 19 racers parents fly around the world to join us in ministry for a week. They arrived in Draganesti-Olt on Saturday, February 21st. The moment where we are all standing in the church sanctuary waiting for our parents to arrive was filled with so many different emotions: nervousness, anxiousness, excitement, wanting to laugh, wanting to cry-the first time any of us had seen any kind of family since leaving America 8 months ago. Our parents flooded in with sweet reunions, hugs and smiles.
Ministry started on that following Monday and lasted through Tuesday. Although, it seems like two days is not that much time for ministry, oh, it was! We were kept busy, on our feet go go going all day long-trying to wear our poor, jet lagged parents out. Funny enough, my parents still stayed up later than I could every night! Ministry ranged from home visits, kids ministry, and eye glass ministry. Our parents were able to experience the culture, food, people, and lifestyle of Romanians, if only for a weeks time. We were just excited to have them get a little glimpse into our last 8 months.
