H.I.S.=Hope Is Sealed.
A few scriptures the Lord gave us at training camp to define our team:
Isaiah 61: 1-3
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD,
Isaiah 50:4-5
“The Lord God has given me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to listen as a disciple. The Lord God has opened my ear; and I was not disobedient nor did I turn back.�
Romans 15:13
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.�
Meet the cast:
Katie is the spiritual heartbeat of the group, discerning and interceding 24/7, fighting for the victory to be God’s. She has the gift of capturing God’s glory through her photography. She faithfully labors for others in prayer and is obedient, no matter the cost. When she speaks, it’s as if you’re hearing the tangible voice of God. Her walk with the Lord challenges each of us to know Him more.
Renee is the joy of the group. Her laugh is a gift from God to the world. She’s our resident ‘baby whisperer’, able to rock even the rowdiest child into a peaceful sleep in her arms. She has a special heart for women and children and is full of wisdom. This girl has abandoned absolutely everything in order to know Him more…she has such a humble, teachable spirit…God has taken that spirit and is molding her into a new woman! She’s looking more and more like Jesus everyday.
Most importantly, Don is the exterminator…killing any living, crawling terrorizer anywhere, anytime we call. He’s also our handyman…able to fix everything and figure everything out. Super intelligent, with such a gift of connecting revelation from the Word of God. He’s an encourager, always seeing people the way God sees them and calling that out. He’s a gentle giant…a warrior of a man with a tender heart that melts at the sight of little children.
Elizabeth’s presence is so warm and inviting, that the people we minster to and with can’t help but be drawn to the Jesus in her. Her smile draws people in. She is the first to pray over the sick and to encourage the hopeless. She has the gift of capturing God-moments (and goofy ones too) through her videography. God has used her singing to connect the body of Christ all over the world, and she brings a consistent, unchanging peace to our team.
This is my team, my family.
By the end of this month, they each must have $10,000 raised in order to continue this journey. Elizabeth, Peter and myself are already fully funded (THANK YOU LORD!!), but the others still lack a little…
