Ahhh..the time is near! A few weeks ago we were told we would arrive in New York City on July 31st.
It’s been such a crazy few weeks since I heard of the official end date of the World Race. I knew it was coming, but it feels a lot more real now. During 8 month debrief (a time of rest and teachings with the whole squad), we talked about re-entry. We learned a lot about common struggles and issues Racers face as they transition home after being away for 11 months. We were also told of the exciting things to look forward to as our Race doesn’t end here…in fact home is simply month 12.
At this point, although I am excited to return home, I am anxious and partially terrified. I am working on a blog now with more details about my hopes and fears of returning home, but for now, I need your help. As I prepare for re-entry, please consider supporting me in the following ways.
Prayer:
- Relationships: The truth is a lot happens in a year. I’ve changed and I know my friends and family have too. Please pray for grace and favor in my personal relationships and a strong community of faith.
- Employment/Finances: Please pray for financial provision and employment soon after I return home.
- Transition back to America: I’ve been away from America for…a long time. Please pray for a smooth transition back into the States as well as an ability to hold fast to the things I’ve learned—especially those that are counter to our culture and society.
Financial Support:
First, thank you again for your giving which allowed me to complete the full 11 months of the World Race. I am still in awe of God’s provision and your generosity to provide $16,258.
I am now raising funds for personal finances to help with my transition home. Coming from graduate school directly to missions-where I haven’t earned any money for the last year-hasn’t given me much opportunity to save. I am boldly asking the Lord to provide an additional $3,000 to help me transition back home and get on my feet. This money will be used to cover known expenses including: housing and food costs, airfare to Seattle to sort/retrieve personal items before moving back to Illinois, school loans, airfare to Seattle to sort/retrieve personal items before moving back to Illinois, and transportation (personal or public).

I trust that God will provide as He has proven faithful already and again, I am confident that He will do that through you!
