This is another one of my fun blogs that I still have to post from India. Hope you enjoy!

Weird Things that Have Become Normal on the Race:

1. Not attending Church services in English.
2. Taking bucket showers or military-style showers.
3. Washing our clothes by hand.
4. Never having a drying machine.
5. Expecting wifi to be disappointing and rejoicing when you are actually allowed to download/upload things on it.
6. Having a new dress code each country.
7. Talking about food you miss from America as a team.
8. Asking teammates to borrow clothes when you run out of clean clothes.
9. Being a pro at airports and travel days.
10. Being a pro at never knowing what’s going on and saying yes to it anyways.
11. Getting used to most people around you not understanding what you’re saying (because you’re speaking English) besides your teammates and squadmates.
12. Enunciating your words and simplifying them for most non-native English speakers.
13. Getting used to unintentionally offending people in each country and then finding out later.
14. Throwing out our used toliet paper.
15. Rejoicing when we have Western toilets.
16. Taking off our shoes before entering a house, church, or building.
17. Being the guest of honor at someone else’s birthday party.
18. Being the guest of honor at someone else’s wedding.
19. Being asked to sing in Church and having 5 mins. or less to prepare.
20. Saying things like: “There’s 5 gecos on that wall.” and “Watch out for the ants! They’re like the ones in Ghana!”
21. Saying “no spice” when you go out to eat and having your mouth burn anyway.
