Hello Again,
I am in the last couple days of the “world race.” Right now, we are on a beach in the Philippines. We are having our last debrief time together before the flight home on the 9th. The last three months have been great. From mid-March to mid-April, I was in Malaysia where I worked with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). We worked in a hospital helping raise money for heart surgeries.

We also got to spend a week working at a homeless center where people could come shower, sleep and eat. The people that came in were always so thankful and looking for someone to talk with. We always had great conversations with them and they always left us with a smile. One day we also got the opportunity to work at a blind home activity day. This was my favorite experience that month as the faith the blind have in the person helping them and the things they could do without sight was unbelievable to me. They rode bike did treasure hunts and tug-of-wars. I really found it humbling to see what they can do and how we say that there are so many things those of us who are fully-equipped people can’t do.

The next month was Cambodia.

This was a big adjustment from the way we lived in Malaysia. We were in a small village outside of Seim Reap and were teachers. We all got to pick at the beginning of the month what classes we wanted to teach. I was teaching English to young kids which was very fortunate for me, because if you know me, my English and writing skills are not my strong suit.
I loved teaching the kids and formed awesome relationships with the staff. One of the staff took me fishing with a net and there were a couple birthday parties as well where we were there so we were able to go to the people’s beach in Cambodia on where I was the only white person, but it was a blast and the people were friendly.
It was a hard month for our team as it was our second to last month and the condition were tough, but we pulled through and became stronger for it.

That month, I read lots of books and God really showed be lots about myself and the things that I really liked and where I feel close to him.
From Cambodia, we flew to the Philippines. We were staying with KIM’s (Kids International Ministries). They had so many different options for ministry available. Almost anything your heart desires to do in regards to ministry you can find it there. I did a lot of construction this month. They are trying to build a pool in the main dorm area for the teams and visitors that come there to work and help out. On a few other days, I had the opportunity to take some of the street kids swimming and hang out with them for the afternoon. There are two children’s home, one is all-girls and the other is mixed. You can go to villages and do feedings twice a day, you can go to outside children’s homes this place had great contacts and loved to hook you up. This month was definitely different and unique from other months as you were somewhat on your own not as a team. This is good and bad but it was nice to have the opportunity be on your own and do your thing. This year has been such a learning experience and has really shown me how God has his hand in everything. I cannot even describe this year in word. Get out there and give it a try this was my first missions experience and I hope God has many more in store for me. Thanks to all the people that have prayed for me and supported me out here this year on my journey God bless you all!!!
